In order to be registered for class, the student must take a placement test.
Miami Beach Adult and Community Education Center provides a complete array of testing to meet the needs of its students.
We provide Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment System (CASAS).
CASAS is an assessment system that includes standardized multiple-choice performance based and alternative assessment instruments to measure life and work skills, basic skills, and employability skills.
All English Language Learners (ELLs), including distance learners who want to register for English classes, must take the CASAS test. A post-test will be administered after 70 hours of instruction.

We provide Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE).
TABE Complete Battery and Survey versions each measure skills in Reading, Mathematics, Language skills, and Spelling in a context that is meaningful to adults. The tests are timed and take proximally 3 hours.
All students enrolling in ABE, GED, or a Vocational program must take the TABE test.
